Under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, administer sample inspections performed by department 138 group leaders and inspectors. This includes; Raw Materials, Lot inspection, Molding, Mounting cup; Springs, 3PC, B&I, Stem Perforation, Valve Assembly, Finished Goods inspection, Process and Lot Audits, Returned Goods Evaluations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for continuous improvement of product quality through job activities.
I.)Assign, train, counsel, recommend dismissal, transfer, merit review, and otherwise supervise the department 138 group leaders, and in-process inspectors.
2.)Implement and administer inspection procedures, gages, defect guides, and all related quality standards. Interpret these devices where judgment is required or obtain interpretation from designers, engineers, chemists, quality engineers etc. In order to make decisions which effectively distinguish between good and defective product.
3.)Initiate rejections on materials which deviate from specification or which do not function properly so as to prevent defective material from getting into manufacturing areas or on to customers.
4.)Analyze reasons for rejections and communicate these to production supervisors or others who have a need to know. Recommend defect preventative measures through inspection, process or product changes.
5.)Process material dispositions on a timely basis so as to enhance material flow and production efficiency.
6.)Schedule inspection personnel so that fluctuations in inspection intensity do not cause lack of or excessive inspection.
7.)Direct investigation of rejected lots for determination of repair instructions. Prepare written instructions relative to repair sampling methods, characteristics to be examined, and sequence of inspection. Provide gage set ups for repair personnel. Report results of repair work relative to cause, cost, and future prevention.
8.)Maintain effective working relationships among inspection personnel and other departments. 9.)Prepare inspection data for reports and engineering analysis. Maintain accurate preparation and collection of daily inspection data. Prepare special inspection data for projects or investigations.
10.)Design inspection workstations with consideration for inspector safety and efficiency. 11.)Maintain equipment condition by requesting any necessary service. Stock efficient levels of accessory supplies.
12.)Disposition material which does not conform to specification. 13.)Responsible for accepting product which conforms to specification.
