JOB SUMMARY: Apply Electroless Nickel, Immersion Gold, Immersion Silver, and OSP to boards in accordance with customer specifications. Prepare and clean boards before plating operation to maintain quality product. Perform maintenance duties to assure plating baths are in proper working order.

- Tape boards as required before ENIG and Silver applications.

- Transfer panels down a series of tanks, using both manual and automatic hoist systems.

- Run weight loss and weight gain coupons as required.

- Utilize X-ray fluorescence and visual inspection to verify conformance with customer specifications. Calculate square footages to conform to plating requirements.

- Collect and record data utilizing customer or standard Electrotek forms, including travelers.

- Monitor baths by visual observation as described in plating procedures.

- Maintain equipment and baths according to operator maintenance schedule and by completing chemical additions and changes to bath as issued by the wet lab.

- Interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS' s) and safety handling procedures for chemicals in the plating area to promote a safe working environment. In addition, must attend annual safety training, per SE#0040 Hazardous Material/Waste Handlers Training.

- Must be able to work independently, and to communicate with different personnel both verbally and through completion of written reports and documents. Must be quality conscious.

- Stringent adherence to cycle times required. Constant alertness and attention to detail is necessary.

- Perform other tasks and duties as necessary.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Work requires balancing, stooping, reaching, standing (particularly for long periods of time), walking, pushing, pulling, and using hands for grasping and feeling. Lifting of up to 50 pounds required frequently. Exertion of up to 75 pounds of force required occasionally. Motions are slightly repetitive. The operator is subject to noise and some workplace hazards, including, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to multiple chemicals, which require safe handling. Required safety equipment includes boots and gloves, safety glasses, goggles, earplugs, apron, and arm sleeves.

QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and requirements for this position would generally be acquired though a high school education, including a basic math course. Familiarity with chemistry helpful, but not required.
