Job purpose

The Human Resources Generalist II is responsible for leading the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations and interactions with employees. She/He will ensure the HR department is organized, provides departmental support and operates to attract, hire, maintaining talent.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Key assistant leader with the day-to-day general operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Resolve employee requests regarding HR issues, rules, and regulations in-person or by phone in a timely manner.
  • Manages the Recruitment for the organization, analyze recruiting needs of exempt and non-exempt candidates including tracking, sourcing, phone screening, interviewing (union candidates), attend or lead hiring events, work w/outside resources, i.E. Recruiters, and placing candidates.
  • Leads the temp to perm process
  • Manages candidate interview bookings
    • Flights, hotels, movers, and Ubers
  • Maintains Union (ZGK) and Non Union (VTY)
    • Wage increases
    • Levels Evaluation system
    • Unemployment responses
  • Assists w/HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance including finger scanning prints, printing ID s for new hires or lost/stolen employee ID, reregistering into timeclocks.
  • Assists employees and management with interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists as needed and/or responds as a back-up with New Hire/Temp New Start Orientations and Payroll
  • Maintains confidential personnel actions, files, and systems.
  • Prepares, refreshes, or adds new job postings extranet and intranet postings.
  • Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  • Assist with company investigations.
  • Assist with company events.
  • Assist with special projects or audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • BS degree in Human Resources or related field is a required, AA degree Human Resources or related field/HR certification with SHRM preferred
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish, read, write, and communicate
  • Proven experience as HR Generalist or relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Advance PC skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • HR/Payroll experience in ADP (Payroll Processing)
  • Attendance Counts is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in labor laws
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment and in a manufacturing environment as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to balance; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear as defined below:

  1. Sit and/or Walk for periods of time while working around machinery
  2. Able to stoop, bend, and crouch on a regular as needed for company functions
  3. Able to walk thru in temperatures from 60-110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels as high as 98%
