The EHS Manager will serve as the key technical resource and are responsible for the implementation and sustainment of the organization s safety and loss control programs. S/he will have a proven track record of independently driving above average incident reduction results achieved through development, implementation, and updating targeted safety strategies and tactics of programs and plans such as but limited to Hazard Communication, Exposure Control (Bloodborne Pathogens, TB, etc.), Hazard Assessment/Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, and Emergency Action Plans.

Duties and responsibilities
Communicate and support safety policies and procedures on a routine basis to assure that the company continues to meet required federal, state, and local standards and regulations
Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities
Maintain safety files and records, including email monthly safety summary
Provide assistance and guidance to management for new hires, in preparation for, and completion of, internal self-assessments and third party audits
Conduct and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA) programs for use in identifying possible safety hazards and developing effective safety guidelines, developing training programs, guiding incident investigations, evaluating ergonomics, and identifying cost savings opportunities
Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and management
Maintain and review accuracy of OSHA 300 log for both facilities
Monitor Near-Miss reporting and investigating situations
Represent company during federal, state and local safety inspections of all facilities, as needed
Promote safety awareness throughout both facilities by using established programs in behavioral safety, hazard recognition and accountability
Knowledge of best world class manufacturing practices and processes
Maintain & email Light Duty log weekly, including verifying physician s notes and details of restrictions to qualify and provide a reasonable accommodation
Demonstrated ability to move between tasks and projects on short notice and to quickly change priorities based on company needs, while still meeting project deadlines
Provide recommendations on current programs and implement new programs that encourage participation and a safety first attitude for all employees
Monitor industry best practice, bring relevant developments to the company and drive implementation
Review physical demands section for the organization s job descriptions
Responsible for communicating with regulatory agencies as needed to comply with applicable environmental health and safety regulations
Chairs Safety Committee meetings
Coordinates actives with local fire departments on inspection of facility
Minimum of 1 to 3 years relevant working experience, with food manufacturing experience highly preferred. The candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions, work under minimal supervision, and record data neatly and accurately.
Bachelor s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related disciplines or equivalent subject matter knowledge experience, skills and abilities acquired through work.
Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other applicable industry environmental, health and safety standards preferred.
Associate Safety Professional, or similar safety accreditation is preferred.
