SMT Machine Operator
Sets up and operates surface mount machines such as screeners, placement machines, and ovens by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Monitor, plan and execute the work orders using the production white board. Ensure that agreed upon shipping dates happen and immediately lets the Production Management know if a ship date is in jeopardy.
Follow prints and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Selects feeders, screen and any other equipment necessary.
Positions and secures board in holding device, machine table, or fixtures.
Load proper programs and modify as necessary.
Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and feeds machine as necessary.
Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of completed assembly to specifications.
SMT soldering proficiency.
Ensure overall organization of the work cell. Unused items should be sorted out and removed.
Be responsible for your quality throughout the work order.
Follow all Safety Policies.
Follow ESD Policy.
Receive additional training as required by Production Management.
Other responsibilities required by Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate' s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The following is a list of training that the employee will receive within the first 90 days of employment. Additional on-the-job training may be given as required. All training will be documented in the training database.
Employee orientation, General ESD awareness, Blood-borne Pathogens, Hazardous Communication, Emergency action plan, Lockout Tagout, Quality Policy, Component Identification, Document interpretation, IPC-A-610(applicable sections).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
