Process Technician

The Process Leader serves as a technical leader in at least one molding process to ensure consistent standard, process and operations across multiple operators, shifts and cells utilizing similar molding and peripheral equipment in a complex manufacturing process. This position is the fourth level in a technical career path operating automated or semi-automated equipment in a complex molding process.
? In the assigned process area, monitor, document and report data and trends in technical readings and product results in order to analyze and recommend process enhancements, utilizing scientific blow molding principals to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
? Coordinate, lead and participate in activities with plant leadership to ensure technical standards are met and followed in support of High 5 metrics for safety, quality, efficiency, engagement and resin loss.
? Research industry advancements applicable to assigned process and equipment, acting as coach and mentor to other technical professionals within assigned scope.
? Provide technical training, mentoring and performance input on technical members and issues within area of expertise. Participate in the recruitment and selection of technical team members.
? Translate technical matters, concerns or changes into business impacts for communications with customers and other non-technical people.
? Operate any production line equipment in our operations to maximize High 5 Operational Metrics: Efficiency, Quality, Safety, Engagement and Resin Loss.
? Independently determine and perform machine adjustments, perform routine machine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot operability issues on all production equipment, including molders and peripheral quality equipment on assigned lines.
? Maximize overall equipment effectiveness on any assigned line, including the highly automated advanced production machinery and production lines.
? Identify and recommend improvements and support all company continuous improvements activities. Work with plant leadership, set up and maintenance to implement improvements.

Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required with advanced technical certificate or formal education preferred. At least 5 years of technical processing, maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a plastic molding operation.
? Demonstrated Troubleshooting capability and learning agility in regards to technical matters, including basic troubleshooting ability of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems and learning agility with regard to information systems and data collection.
? Ability to read, write and speak English.
? Ability to interpret product specifications and technical documents.
? Demonstrated ability to document technical instruction in written English and communicate this type of instruction orally.
? Experience applying Lean tools within a process manufacturing environment preferred.
? Ability to do basic math and measurement.
? Ability to follow guidelines independently and work as part of a cohesive production team.
? Demonstrated capability with basic business computer applications used to collect data and prepare basic reports. Experience using mobile device applications.
? Must be able to provide own set of advanced tools
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift or carry parts, material and product of up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to grasp, pinch, reach, finger, pick, or otherwise work with fingers, hands and arms for regular tasks.
Must laugh at jokes and enjoy attempts at humor from other members, no matter how feeble.
Must be able to wear eye and hearing protection and operate effectively in temperatures ranging from 60 to 110 F.
