SUMMARY
Control conformal coating and potting machines to apply coating/potting to electronic components and onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for programming aspects of coating /potting machines.

Adjust controls of machines to regulate operating speed, spray of coating, and position of spray.

Observes thickness and consistency of coating to make sure it is within customer specification.

Observes meters, gauges, and indicator lights to ensure that coating PCBs conforms to processing standards.

Examines samples of soldered boards to detect substandard soldering and discusses with Quality and adjusts controls accordingly.

Cleans parts and interiors of machines and replenishes fluids in machines and equipment.

Other responsibilities assigned by the Production Management including but not limited to:
  • Order all coating and label supplies.
  • Monitor shelf life of coating supplies.
  • Organize all coating / potting machine spare parts.
  • Back up coating and label programs to the J drive monthly.
  • All programming aspects of the labeling machines.
  • Create coating documentations as required.
  • Preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.

Soldering proficiency.

Ensure overall organization of the work cell. Unused items should be sorted out and removed.

Be responsible for your quality throughout the work order.

Follow all Safety Policies.

Follow ESD Policy.

Receive additional training as required by Production Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate' s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer knowledge

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The following is a list of training that the employee will receive within the first 90 days of employment. Additional on-the-job training may be given as required. All training will be documented in the training database.
Employee orientation, General ESD awareness, Blood-borne Pathogens, Hazardous Communication, Emergency Action Plan, Lockout Tagout, Quality Policy, Component Identification, Document interpretation, IPC-A-610(applicable sections).
